Chasing some info about my HB, I know it was built here in Brisbane and the paint code say Silvermink, but from what I've been able to find, only Brabhams came in silvermink in '67
codes are as follows
BODY HB826-351B
TRIM 1205-F38
PAINT 587-1704
INSERT
TOP 585-9562
The tag below the plate reads
B097098
Any info would be greatly appreciated, also, I need to do a brake upgrade, what are all the kool kids doing for brake upgrades?

Welcome to the Forum.
Silver Mink was only available on the SL (82611) in the HB Torana in 1967/68.
Option XS5 'Brabham Pack' was available on both the 82411 Torana S and the 82611 Torana SL in 1967/68.
Trim code F38 is Howey Fawn and your HB has a 'Grecian White' roof.
Body #351B is the 351st HB Torana body produced at the Acacia Ridge plant
B097098 is the 97,098th vehicle assembled at the Acacia Ridge plant.
I don't know of any brake upgrades for the HB but I'm sure where there's a will there's a way.

Thanks Dave, where do I find if it is a Brabham pack? Is the XS5 code stamped somewhere?

No code stamped anywhere you just have to look for the Brabham Pack attributes.
AFAIK, later in 1968 the Brabham Torana aquired its own model number 82811.
But up till then an 82411 or 82611 optioned with XS5 had no unique identifier.
If the only thing that makes you think it may be a Brabham is the Silver Mink paint then you probably have a std SL Torana.

It was a 1 owner car and there is no brabham stripes on it anywhere, so I don't feel so bad about it having a V6 in it...Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I could get the paint, silvermink mixed up in Brisbane? It would be nice to get the original colour.

Probably not a Brabham, just an SL.
If the car is pretty original, look for the badge holes for the small Brabham badges on the front of the front guards & the rear panel between the tail-lights (RH-side from memory). These are unique to HB series 1 Brabhams.

Thanks Dr Terry, I agree, more than likely just an SL, which is fine, wouldn't feel right butchering an original. I've been told that an LJ diff housing will fit straight in, is this true?

Putting a v6 in a Torana of any kind is gay... As Aids..
Have you considered other alternatives ?
First I thought about an SR20 turbo in one, but then a friend of mine had this HB with the V6 already installed and kinda thought, thats cool, everyone puts a V8 in them, but I want to drive this on the road, besides, if I want to go fast, I have a 7 second, 190+MPH streetbike, so I'm good with only having a V6 and I'm not a homophobe, so its ok if the car is gay!
