Main issue seems to be ethanol %/octane rating varies from tank to tank sometimes too high so blokes may have to dilute fuel down then cars run sweet again as tuned for that octane rating.

Hard starting & running rich as hell usually..easily fixed with fuel tester available...obviously efi cars dont have that issue.

Gumming up is bit hit or miss depending on car & fuel system...using old factory tank not cleaned out/treated & sealed increases chance it will happen...also moisture/air getting in does it.

I run E85 on na engine. Don't have the issues explained earlier and car sits for 2 months if not longer sometimes. I have read plenty of other having trouble though. Allot does depend on your fuel system.

Mine is completely sealed off when not in use so I think that helps.

My mates HQ big block has a twin 750's on E85, and if its left un-started more than a week the float bowls will dry out and turn to powder, clogging needle and seats. We found lots of corrosion in the new carbies as water is attracted to the E85, to the same level as methanol. Also had lots of cold start issues in winter, found if you primed it with super it would start straight away. lot of work for an extra 20+ horses.

I have a mate that is looking at selling a complete 355 setup. From radiator to gearbox. Incl pipes, msd, full turn key setup from a vl. Will run 10 sec pass. Looking at 15k for full setup. If that's something you would consider. Just throwing it out there.
