I've seen pictures of a Ford crossflow head on a holden six,

and there are drag cars with this done too.

Just wondering if anyone here still have this conversion,

to show us some more pictures of this modification?

Here are a few links that have bits and pieces on the subject:-

I'm pretty sure Bob Ridley had an old 202 powered drag rail with a ford x-flow head on it. He might still have it, I haven't been out there for like 10yrs but there must be some other guys on here that know Bob...

Might be a silly question, but wouldn't it be easier to fit the whole Ford engine? Surely the Ford engine would be stronger in the bottom end. One of the later (like FG) turbo engines maybe?

A Folden has Ford parts,

or as Tim said in chat, about a racer he knows,

has Holden pistons and conrods in a Ford L6 block.

So a 9" diff in the rear end of a Holden is the same thing.

Edit:-

Even the hoppers big brake kit has Ford calipers.

Might as well put a Chev badge on the grill, fit a supra box and put Toyota on the bootlid. (Poofs)

Funny that Rob,

a Holden guy would put a Chev badge on the grille,

but not a Toyota badge on the boot, hmm.

All about hiding the fact why you are faster then your opponent.

Look at Gene, he has a GM saginaw box in the GTR.

The question still stands though, wouldn't it be easier to transplant say an FG XR6 engine than try to graft the Ford head onto the red6? Taking aside of course one's unholy attraction to said red6's? Personally I wouldn't bother with either and just fit a V8, but that is another matter.

Not defending Gene, but HK-HG Holden had Saginaw boxes fitted as standard.
