Cant see any reason 2-300,000 wouldn't be more than achievable with correct servicing.

My Mum had a Mazda 1970 2 door she bought new for $2000 in 1970,

and it just had regular services, and had no other parts changed,

drove to towns and cities over a period of 14 years, and then got a $2000 trade in for a Toyota Corolla. :)

On the other note, I used to buy 200,000km 202's for $50-$100 each,

and strip them to a short motor, to put the big cam and worked head on etc,

to have fun till they blew up at about 4000km a piece, he he.  :3gears:

Half a million easy. Mine had done high 300000's before being rebuilt for forced induction and was given a hard time regularly, Turned it to 5500rpm all the time. If you replace the fiber timing gear they will go for ever, cheers Aaron.

I was counting today and worked out I went through 3 clutches, half a dozen welsh plugs, 1 diff center, 2 sets of rear wheel bearings, 1 head gasket, several manifold gaskets but nothing major on the red motor.
It was a three on the tree. I changed from first then upto second, to get from second to third I just put the clutch in and it dropped down to third on its own.
Cheers Dazm

Before mandatory end of life for cabs came in in NSW (around '93-ish) Holden taxis (HQ to HZ) were everywhere. On LPG they'd regularly see 500000kM on a 202. They'd change trimatics pretty regularly. It wasn't uncommon to see ex HZ cabs at the local Holden wtecker with near to a million kM, sometime even over a million, normally rust or fatigued body and/or chassis would kill them. Cabbies would then just buy a low kM HZ Kingswood or Premier and go again. I recall a couple of V8 cabs at one stage, even a GTS. I bought a 1986 XF ex cab once, it was 7 years old (end of cab life) and had 570,000kM on it, but had been a standby cab for its last year. Engine was the original but was on its 2nd BW40 and I had to replace that while I had it. So you can only imagine the kM a 15 year old HX/Z would get to as a cab.

800k?!

My has done about 360K. It had 1 rebuild about 11 years ago and since then has blown a manifold gasket and just last month the head gasket, 2 problems in 11 years is not bad. I don't think 202's ever actually break, they just get occasional colds.

Injected with a good ECU set up they might last 500K with regular maintenance and sensible use ?

Just don't lend it to Dave.
