stall converter help

what stall converter comes out stock in a trimatic with a 173 in front of it, also whats the biggest cam i would be able to put in with a stock stallie

Most factory stalls are upto 1800 rpm. You can use one out of a gemini which i think will take it to 2500-3000 (others on here will know better). Problem with changing cams is that you usually need to change a fair bit of other stuff from a stock motor to get the best out of it (carb, exhaust, diff ratio). If everything else is staying stock you will only be able to go up a few sizes, check out the crane cams website it will give you an idea of what the cam will be like and if you can keep the stock stally.

with the cam i will be looking to run a WW stromie extracter with 2 inch exhaust and 3.55 gears

The cam hes looking at (i think). is the crow 35604
