Bit of an odd question , but i was just wondering , i have an old 253 and just had the stupidist idea that if i could knock up a reverse

blade air pump of fashions of about some size that would fit on the block (about 2 foot diam.) , it would be variable speed and have a bit of a note , it might work ?

You could I guess.... but you really only need 3 or 4hp so even a 253 would be massive overkill. Not to mention hot, heavy, smelly, bulky and expensive to run. And if that isn't enough there's the constant thong-slapping...

I really think an electric blower would be cheaper and a squillion times easier.

Better off using the 253 as a boat anchor and getting a ls1, at least the ls already sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

I believe the polite way to put it is "The 253 performs very well in certain marine applications"
