Has anyone got some pics of the Celica 5 speed in a LC/J Torana? Mate reckons it won't fit inside the transmittion tunnel.
Thanks

I assume you are in Melbourne, i was wondering if I would be able to drop around and stick my head under your car and have a look if possible?

Just wondering what you've done about the tailshaft? It's not the original LC/LJ one is it?

The setup came out of a LX Hatch, so I will measure the tailshaft and record how long it needs to be for the LH/X/UC Toranas, then hopefully when i get a look at @milco@s Torana i can measure his and see if the same tailshaft fits or it needs to be shorter.
I am planning to write a tech article with pics when i do this, so hopefully you guys will have something to look at.

Aren't there a few different types of gearboxes with the shifter in different locations (ie, slightly closer to the back or the front). Is there a specific one that is right for the hole thats pre-cut into most of our trans tunnels?
edit: oh on another note ... does anyone know if the standard crossmember fits or with mild adjustments?
Cheers

On some there is a bit that sets the shifter back about 6 inches... my box had that when i got it, but you can just unbolt it and put the shifter back in the original spot. Bit of mucking around, but easy enough to do.Aren't there a few different types of gearboxes with the shifter in different locations (ie, slightly closer to the back or the front). After doing that, the shifter is just about exactly the same as m20 shifter hole.
