VZ ute isn't extended cab nor is Falcon

Perhaps a VZ Crewman would be more suitable.

So what term would you prefer me to use?

Extra cab??? Slightly bigger than standard cab???

Seriously that's being pedantic.

In both cases there is space behind the seats for the storage of small items like ropes, jumper pack etc. Or more specifically in my case for putting picture frames. None of the Japanese single cab utes have any space whatsoever behind the seats that I'm aware of - the seats are generally hard up against the bulkhead like VG to VS and XD to XH utes.

Dual cabs are a waste of time as the tray is so small. I've got a small rural property so the tray is used every weekend and 99% of the km are driver only.

When I looked at FG Utes to sit in them comfortably the seat was hard against the back like a HQ-WB robber. Same with VY-VZ. They might have more room than a single cab Thai/Jap ute but nothing like an Xtra cab ute. Xtra cabs have seats in the back, this is what I'd call extended cab.

My falcon has a useable space behind the seat, I can store tool bags and hundreds of empty chup packets.

Cool, must be because i'm 6'5"! Whenever I drive one I can't get the seat back any further as it hits the rear wall. Not sure how my phone got robber out of tonner in the above post though.

The Commonwhore "One Tonner" isn't actually a very stout piece if kit from what old mate who worked in the assembly plant said. They claim all the kudos but really aren't a pinch of sh!t compared to the HQ/WB.

Sadly no one realises they made an all wheel drive one... the plastic flares don't get noticed when it's parked next to the 2wd RTV falcon ute.

I had an AU2 falcon one tonne and it was unstoppable. Needed a coil pack, air con orifice tube & a power steering pressure switch from time to time, but the mileage was somewhere beyond the moon & even when it sprung a welsh plug leak and literally ground to a halt with the temperature light on we just jammed another plug into it and kept motoring.

There's a reason the Falcon ute had the company/lease market fairly well sown up ;)
