Fellas, whats the go with these crossmembers with the larger holes where it bolts on to chassis, they are much larger than the actual bolt itself

Rae spares dont stock any rubber insulators for LJ's and the bloke i spoke to said hes had several people ask about them, including himself.

Only thing i could think of was to tack a large thick washer to the crossmember and bolt it up, was a little worried thre might be some slack play and it might give way

I cant be the only one who has encountered this, what have some of you blokes done?

You should have washers before the bolts but not tacked on

This is a parts illustration for the LH/LX/UC trimatic transmission rear support which is very similar to the 1973 LJ support member and associated components.  Note the tube spacers/crush tubes (#3) that fit through the centre of the rubber insulators.

Yea they look the same...when speaking with the rare spares guy, he has the same crossmember as i do, and i mentioned them rubber insulators, but his only reply was they dont make them for LJ...that lead me to believe they might not fit... i dunno...you would think someone working there would have at least tried them ha.

I machined 8 bushes for mine from poly which works fine. They are isolation rubbers.
