G'day All

 

Just thought I would let you know that there will be a "mini" auction at the Friday Night Meet 'n Greet

 

Better clarify that a bit, not auctioning off a MINI but some of my memorabilia that the proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House 

 

This idea of mine has come about by the loss of my brother in law Mike and my sister in law Heather through different cancers

I have also lost friends through this fur king insidious disease so in some way I am helping out families who are going through a tough time

 

So I know that the items are not of high value but every bit counts

 

So here they are

 

A collection of Torana Tins

 

 

A collection of "Tribute" magazines after the demise of our beloved Peter Brock

 

 

A collection of Torana & Brock Magazines

 

 

4 Torana Money Boxes with their yummy toffees not opened 

 

 

 

 

 

Something for the tipplers, a bottle of wine made by Dr David Miller from here in Cootamundra

 

 

AND another bottle of wine from the most successful wine exporter in Australia "Yellow Tail"

 

 

AND this one will be probably the most sort after in my mini auction 

 

AND one sort after by those that admire the BIG B's and I don't mean "BOOBS", I mean Bond and Brock 

 

It is a Man magazine from 1973

 

 

A great article on Bond & Brock with a photo of Brock, Bond and Harry Firth with the 72 car and oh yes, a couple of lovely ladies BUT the to make this magazine VERY collectible is what Harry wrote on the photo for me 

 

 

Harry wrote above one lovely lady "Michelle" (Michelle Downes AKA Miss Australia, Peter's ex-wife) and Harry also noted at the bottom of the page "Brock, becoming Mr Australia Harry Firth"

 

I was lucky enough to become "sort of" friends with Harry and this notation was typical of his type of humour

 

 

 

I am working on some other stuff but if anyone would like to bring along an item that relates to Torana History then please contact me and I can add this to the list

 

I believe the above magazine will be sort after from a fella in WA who will remain anonymous so bring along you Oxford Scholars ($$$$) and bid up for a worthy cause

 

BTW  200 Torana nutters have booked in for the Friday Night Meet 'n Greet

The Hunter Valley Torana Club volunteers have been busy organising this years Toranafest and we can't believe it is only 10 WEEKS AWAY, September 15-17 @ Maitland NSW.

 

We are close to 250 entrants, so if you haven't entered we suggest you do so asap whilst entry fee is still $45 (remember the Saturday dinner function is sold out).

 

Proceeds from this years Toranafest will go to:

 

RONALD McDONALD HOUSE NEWCASTLE.

CARRIE'S PLACE MAITLAND (helping victims of domestic violence & homelessness).

DOG RESCUE NEWCASTLE - don’t forget to bring some donations - dry or canned dog/cat food, bedding (old towels & sheets), flea & worm treatments, leads & collars etc.

 

It’s going to be a huge weekend celebrating “50 years of Torana”.
