why not just fit the whole motor, new or old block.
if not then a healthy cam would support a 253 but valve to bore clearence would be an issue.
not much of an advantage here as the heads mat be too big for a streeter 253 and you would get better ecconomy and more performance from fitting a 465 holley with a matched cam.
other ways would be fitting an over the counter holley system but again cost would see you fitting the 465 holley.
P.S if you were super keen to fit the 5L inj to 253 you could stroke it to 310 which would be more than worth it(cost aside).

I dont think so RIM.. i think its carby!
Injection is just another way of getting the fuel into the engine! Would be easy to organise to inject a 253.. its basically just injectors into the manifold and a throttle body instead of the carby!
It could be done!

injection is a little more than just drilling holes and sticking in injectors as the whole principle of injection upgrade is to achieve better fuel atomisation and control by placing the injector as close to and facing the back of the inlet valve as practicle and if this cannot be achieved especially with sequencial triggering then you are onlt going backwards.
