I love a sunburnt country.
A land of sweeping planes.
One half drowning in a flood the other half in flames.

So from media reports, Townsville to Mackay should be totally flattened and under an 8m tidal surge of water?
Is this the case?
I can see next years insurance premium skyrocketing again.

How'd ya's go. Any 8m tidal surge as the media predicted? 1 in a 100 year event to apparently. So that means no more cyclones for the next 99 years.
No power Id imagine? And with the awesome NBN that will mean no home phone as well, and with Cell towers down, no mobile service. What a step backwards.... No form of comms....

The trouble with Deb is that she came on slow towards the coast , she was , (if BOM & US naval pics. are correct) is that she was about
the size and intensity of Larry , the difference being that being so slow to cross the coast is that the roar in the sky lasts many more
hours which means more persistent winds for a longer period which means more destruction , not the best thing to go through , Larry was pretty well over by lunch time , remember it well , even went for a walk up the road while the eye crossed , no phone or power for 2 weeks , nearly starved to death.

Geez Im glad I live in Farrrrrr North Qld. So much less extreme weather up here! Just wish the insurance companies would see it that way...... Not doubt Insurance is set to skyrocket again....
Im not sure what is going to do more damage to Qld, a Cyclone or the Media.
