When you do something Col you do it good and proper.
I'd still be checking that when in 1st gear the input shaft turns a smidgen past 2.5 turns to every turn of the output shaft.

You would need a couple of degree wheels to get much more accurate than that ^
Or just count the teeth and do the math... as set out in CAMS H2-3 (attached below):
