when i press my brake pedal down i hear a leak of air and get a soft pedal. Ive been told its a busted diaphram. Ive priced to get it rebuilt and was quoted $250. Im thinking about just replacing it with a 2nd hand one form the wreckers. What other vehicle boosters can i replace it? ive heard valiant ones give a nice solid pedal but i just need confirmation its going to work.

Torana ones fit

Valaint ones don't without modifications

Air leak will be vaccuum loss thru rear seal usually
However a soft pedal is more of a hydraulic issue than booster
Sounds like you might have 2 seperate problems

I know mine has a vacume leak as when I press the brake, engine revs increase but I don't have a soft pedal. I would be checking the master while you are getting booster repaired.
