Check it out guys, is might be entertaining for you!
Anyways, its from my first ever competition sprint which was at Sandown 25th of June.
Some things to note:
First lap out of pits VERY sideways out of first corner, a hard lesson in cold tyres
Tried going into second second last corner when on the brakes, 2nd was way to high revs for that corner, then partial missed gear on front straight.
Then basically was a case of the car been overdriven from trying to hard, so whilst entertaining, not optimal lap times. Big understeer coming onto front straight in the 2nd lap to.
Enjoy all!
Tell us what ya think

Its good if you cut a good lap time on a track, but its best if you don't bend/brake/burn anythingSure did steve! It was quite tail-happy, I'm just happy to have kept it off the walls and not spinning at all.
Have you got a front swaybar lined up? I would recommend the Whiteline 22mm job i got under my car... car stays so flat when cornering with that thing.

Just watched the video, sweet as, sound pretty cool, Great job, they can be a handful being so light in the rear end, and especially with some grunt under the bonnet.
Im going to a track day at Symmons plains in october (Toranas Only) Should be cool, I might whack a camerea in the back too, Will be my first blast on a circuit too, so could be interesting.

I mounted the camera by making up a bracket and bolting it into the rear parcel shelf. The rattle is some loose bits in some rivets on the camera box, have fixed that with blue tack for future footage. Also I didn't put the piece of rubber I use to buffer high speed vibration in properly, so the camera started to shake abit towards the end of the straights.
Swaybar specs are rear (now removed) and no front sway bar in that video.
I've got a swaybar, but I can't mount it as it is bent. One day will take it and get mounted or buy another one.
Honestly on that first corner when she snapped like that I thought I was gone and would fully spin, I think I was more shocked the thing stayed straight, lol
That was my first competition event, prior to that learned 'some' car control at 4 winton fundays thru-out 2 years.
gtrtorana: joined the Holden Sporting Car Club of Victoria to compete in sprints as they are CAMS affiliated. $45 per yer car club membership. Then got a CAMS 2S licence for $95. The event cost $135 I think. So it abit of outlay before you even get on the track.
Things to be done to car from memory are a fire extinguisher in the cabin (metal bracket solid mounted), headlight protection (can buy adhesive clear protectors), secondary bonnet restraints. As well as they car been generally roadworthy. In this thread I explain abit and have piccys http://www.gmh-toran...?showtopic=6573
Anyways, was a great day of fun, I highly recommend it, can't wait to go again sometime.
