Three thousands of an inch .003" for every inch of bore size used to be the common gap. I generally like to see an extra one or two thousands for the top ring if subject to extra cylinder temps from boosting. As said above the piston/ring manufacturer should be able to give you good guidelines.

A bit more hurts nothing, not quite enough will destroy the motor - assume worst case, motor may get hot, may get a bad batch of fuel, whatever.
I ran my turbo 308 with .028/.032" ring gaps.
