Hi Tom,

The seats are a marketplace find and came with torana rails. They are autotechnica seats.

The backrest is a little narrow for me. but other than that they do the job.

To be honest, I'll probably just bite the bullet and go a hoppers kit.

Realistically though, I need to get ahead again and get a bit of money saved before doing much else with it.

I want to get the handbrake cables done though so I can at least drive it here and there.

The only other issue is that I'm not sure if it's running hot or not. I purchased a 304 sender and once warm its off the gauge, change to a 6 cylinder UC sender and its off the gauge once warm too.

So not really sure if it's actually running hot or not.

Do you have a 0V wire from the battery to the body?

Don't worry about the missing engine number. It is how you bought it and that is that. They will issue you with a new one. It makes it easy to convince them that it is a 78/79 block.

Yel, the 0 volt wire is there.

EDK, mernda is about an hour from me, so probably not at this stage. especially when I'm not sure if the car is running hot.

Shiney, I'll look into what needs to happen.

Well, I've done a little more driving in it and took it for a longer drive today. temp stayed steady, so it seems like a typical holden. If it sits idle too long it gets hot.

either that or the gauge has settled and is working correctly now.

Still leaning towards selling it as that would give me a 12 month headstart on buying a house.

I guess it depends on how the next few months go.

It's currently on laid up insurance and I'm considering switching to 3rd party so at least I'm covered if the worst happens. With 3rd party if I hit someone they generally won't even look at my car. Just makes me really nervous if something was to happen and the car isn't engineered.

I doubt the premiums would be much more expensive. Maybe even cheaper??
