1.00 0.85 ≈ 1.176ok then yeh i doubt you would want anything higher than that! .85 isnt all that much though. 0.85 is %15 less than 1 : 1 ratio rpm right? thats how you work out how much over drive your getting?
So it's actually closer to an 18% difference.
A 0.78 ratio would be about 28% difference.

Depends on which model you are looking at. My understanding is Supra boxes will fit in a LH/X/UC tunnel but not a LC/J tunnel. Celica box should fit in both no problems.so those boxes fit in the tunnel?
tailshaft mods?
dellow bellhousing?
engineers certificate?
crossmember?

From what i understand the tailshaft does need to be shortened, but you need the Toyota yoke to go on the front.
Either Dellow or CRS bellhousing yes
Dunno about engineers.
Yes you need a different crossmember. Dellow or CRS should be able to help you with that as well.
I also understand you need to change the spigot bush and at this stage i understand you run a Toyota preassure plate and clutch plate and a Holden flywheel. Another option is a Toyota 'Dyna' truck clutch i believe.

dyna clutch plate is 10 inch and i dont think will fit a 6cly. also dyna only suits steel case as supra has more splines on input shaft i think.

Some other posts talk about needing to modify the tunnel, or to weld a small box section on top of the gearbox to stop it hitting the tunnel.
The bloke who is selling the box reckons I need to cut a small section out of the back of the standard gearbox hole, no box section required. I'm not sure how that would work with a standard console. I don't really want to cut the console or go without it.
Any T5'ers advice appreciated

I've had the box in place for 4yrs without any problems at all (although the reverse synchro is starting to play up a little). With the 3.0 gears in the 9", the T5's overdrive makes the unlimited speed limits up here in the Territory a lot easier on the engine and on petrol.
Cheers.

I have a T56 fitted and didn't cut a thing and also retained the same shifter location as a M21.

I used a Mal Wood kit which required the input shaft of the box to be modified slightly. Bit stronger than a supra or T5 if your thinking of going a little harder in the hp and torque dept.
