loudest proudest exhaust system on a 253

okay fellas im thinking of getting the exhaust on the torrie something loud and proud for the 253 anyone got some combo ideas thats cheap and loud ? :spoton:

Yeah, cut the zhorst off at the extractors... cheap and loud!!

get rid of the 253 and put a 454 in now that would be loud and proud

seriously though i am wanting something decently loud and trust me i have heard some awsome sounding 253s mate of mines studebaker has a 253 with side pipes sounds loud as hells bells andgos good as well. il never forget the day at the uniuque cars thing at calder this year (bob janes bday event) when i was in the back of that car and we were heading onto the thunderdome and he belted it through the tunnel .... the echo of the roaring 253 was just about deafening!!!!!

Not a torrie but it sounded mint!

Will be running flanges at the diff on mine (meaning the lh) so i can run optional dumpers to like my gemi had

i have to say the best sounding poo 5 3 i have ever heard would have to be green machines hatch :spoton: awesome sound coming out of that, bloody sounds better then my stroker :furious:

You don't want something excessively loud, it just needs to sound good.

I'd be going something like extractors, twin 2-1/4" into a set of hotdogs (then put a flange) then continue the 2-1/4" pipe into a set of reasonable mufflers and then dump it right at the back with some fatter pipes.

2 1/2 inch from extractors, twin hotdogs back into single pipe you could then do two things- dump it before the diff and rig up an old shitty muffler at the rear so it looks legal, or dun it right through and put a straight thru muffler on the back. Ive got a 2.5 inch system on my LJ with the 202, runing single hotdog and straight thru rear muffler, sounds louder and tougher then most cars and was cheap (mainly cus my old man owns the muffler shop) HA :tease:

I had twin 2 and a half inch with twin lukey straight through mufflers and ending just before the diff and it would give ya goosebumps hahah

I had a 253 in a HT Monaro with straight pipes...that thing was the loudest car I ever heard.

I have a 253 with extractors, dual 2-inch exhaust and straight thru super cat mufflers dumping out the back and it sounds fine. not super loud but when you get the revs up it sounds very nice! :spoton:
