i recently brought a hatch off my bro in law really cheap, i havent looked at the plates on it yet but have picked up interior bits and pieces, the door trims are in really good nick and are black with carpet, vinyl and an insert
is there any difference in models like SLRs and the like?
i will get a picture of them soon

Nice set of trims Boomfunk, pity about the spkr holes. Can you tell me if the lower carpeted section is black in colour. I have the same interior and the carpet is a very dark brown colour (I thought it would just be fading, maybe I need my eyes checked)
Thanks,Max

yeah they are black carpet, we use them as templates .. they have been kicking around in the back shed for years
personally they arent what i would use but for someone looking at original style trims then thats what was used back then..

Does anybody know if you can buy the "chrome" strip that is on the trim or even if it is replacable ?

I would like to know this too.
The chrome stuff is peeling off mine and they look crappy.

mate of mine with a XB GT bought chrome pin striping and put it over all the chrome surronds on his door. Looks good and is simple and effective. Think he got it from some shop like Supa Cheap.

Yes, you can 're-chrome' using chrome vinyl strip.
If you can find it at an auto store, cool, otherwise you can
buy from sign company suppliers such as A-One, basically anyone
who sells self adhesive vinyl off a roll. You can get them to slit it to your
desired width, or just cut lots of strips for you on a sheet, which you can
peel off and stick down.
Not as easy as you think!! but forgiving enough to pullback up and re-stick
a few times, like putting down masking tape.
Also, if your original stuff is peeling, then you may as well finish the job before
you put new stuff one.
You can actually buy new 'speed hump' chrome trimming, with a self adhesive
base in various profile. The smallest I have found is about 7mm dia. half round.
The place I have bought from sells it for $30.00 for 3 meters. (but not $10/m!!??)
That's the minimum buy.
The problem is that you might damage your door skin pulling the old stuff up.
OK if you are making a new one from scratch.
Anyhoo, good luck!!
