My wiper motor had the remains of gold cad on the armature cover. I didn't want to remove the pole shoes to replate the cover so gave it a light almost transparent dusting of gold paint and called it done.
Happy with the final result and being a race car l am not trying to achieve a concourse correct finish everywhere.

Geez hard to believe. Mine was so silver I couldnt imagine it could ever have been gold.

Yeah, the one I'm working on is like that and this is what caused the slight doubt in my mind. Inside is still gold though.
