Sealant for LJ Tail Lights

Any recommendations for sealants to use when fitting tail lights to the car body.

Non-skinning mastic - ie cool room mastic etc. Avoid polyurethanes and silicones which will cure and perform as an adhesive sealant that permanently bonds the assembly in place.

^^^^ I used Bostick black windscreen sealant which is similar to mastic.

Thanks guys.  Has anyone got any pictures of how much to use.  :D      Also I saw this stuff "3M Window-Weld Ribbon Sealer"   Any thoughts on this product.  Sealing Rear Tail Lights to the Car - YouTube

Just get a tube ,apply it around the lens housing ,you can cleanup excess   with mineral turps.

A lot of people use dynamat,it’s a stick on underlay ,I used the underlay from Knox carpets.I can’t tell you which is better ,but I didn’t want anything stuck down on the floor.

Used this 3M sealant. It is good stuff. Bit hard to get hold of but worth the effort

Look at the mating surface as has been said & yes wax & grease ect clean up, just like a windscreen. Use a quality W & g & if you have already polished the car, the w & g will remove the polish. Do the job in the shade.
