Hey all
Im building a Lh diff centre and ive got 2 options for diff centre housing whereas one housing from looks has extra support around the outside at the bottom possibly for the pinion bearing
Can some explain why and which housing would berecommended .
It will be built with the harrop true trac Lsd with billet axles
Behind a mild 308

Sounds like you have a 3.08/2.78 ratio carrier and a 3.55/3.36 ratio carrier.

The 3.08/2.78 ratio carrier has the "extra support" around the outside at the bottom. It requires two long mounting bolts rather than 1 short bolt (drain bolt) and a stud.

Select the carrier that suits the ratio you intend to use.

I know this has been discussed before and what ratio will fit what carrier etc.

Ive actually got a 3.55 LSD centre mounted to my 2.78 carrier. I didnt realise the differences at the time and the workshop that rebuilt the centre, mounted it to the 2.78 carrier which at the time has a 3.08 centre attached.
