Hi,
Did a bit of a trawl through old threads, but after current info.

Has anyone purchased one of these " Speco 60-4500 shifter for Aussie 4 speed" from Revheads in QLD?

They are listed, and seem cheaper than the Rares ones?
are they better/ any good?

I have enquired directly with them, and are awaiting a reply. Thought I'd ask here for real world experience. Thanks

I don't know about their 4 speed shifters, but the three speed floor shifters they produced for M15 all synchro had a poor reputation. A better option was to use a modified original 4 speed shifter, with reverse gate welded up.

Ta & Yes, out of production about 20 years ago.
Doesn't suprise me, as the market would be tiny in 2022.
They advise they may be able to scratch up some parts or odds and sods to assist in rebuild of old one.
See how we go.
Thanks for the replies.

Any reason you want the Speco one col? I have one that has been converted to three speed as I described previously, you can have toward making up an original one if you want it.

I have a Speco shifter in my car. Was in the car when I purchased it 18 years ago. It shifts OK and don't need to "depress" the shifter to select reverse.

Hi Clay,
Ta for the offer.
We have a couple of them ( in 2 cars) and a spare.
However the spare and one car operates more like a Opel shifter..i.e. sloppy as.
One was rebuilt a few years back by a guy who knows what he is doing. The linkages are rose jointed etc, so I'm pretty confident it is the actual shifter that is the drama.
I think it is just worn out.
I dont actually know what you would replace? shims? spring? to tighten it all up.
Would be happy to get your parts if you are happy with that?
Thanks

Ta Max....we should have bought 10 back in the day! lol
p.s. I'm not stuck on Speco, just know they were around. Rares has a copy of OEM.
Don't know anyone who has used one?.
Renegate used to do a straight? short shift? but that's history too.
Some race cars have some sort of B&M shifter on 4 speed Aussie, but I think thats old news too.
