Flap material and paint colour.
I know its not a new topic but for me it is.
Can anyone help with the type of material that is used for the flap in the the heater box its like a mat type of material.
Also im reconditioning 2 heater boxes one to use and one to sell what type of paint should be used for the fiberglass top trying to be original as can be. Thanks for any help

Fibre glass top shouldn't be painted. Just a raw black gel coat with rough fibres visible is the most desirable.

Not sure what flap you're talking about. There are two and both have different material.

Its the one that has metal tabs so you can straighten the tabs and separate the 2 halves, hope this helps.

That material in between fresh air flap metal panels on mine appeared to be like a felt. I released those metal tabs and turned the felt over, recut slots to fit over the tabs and basically it refreshed the sealing edges.

Yeah I used a felt type material. I pictured it in my build thread "The Sally Report" but can't remember what page it's on.
