I see the Torana Nationals are on soon in Canberra.

Anyone going or been before? Is it a good event?

I was thinking of going down for the Saturday cruise but unlikely to stay for the Sunday show n shine, would it be a waste. Probably about 4.5 hours drive for me to get there

Cheers, Tom

G'day Tom

The Canberra Torana Nationals are run on the same format as Toranafest and of which "Torana Muscle On The Murray" also does the same

The Toranafest format is a tried and proven way to run any car event on a weekend

Friday Meet & Greet

Saturday Cruise

Saturday night Gala Dinner

Sunday Show 'n Shine

I have entered but will only be there only on the Sunday for the Show 'n Shine of which I'm not interested in BUT I have a couple of other reasons for going

As I've found out from going to my first Toranafest in 2008, making friends and mixing with like minded people is a grea way to spend a weekend

G'day All

I have it on good authority that there will be an SS Hatchback for sale at the Nationals

The owner has confided in me that now is the time to sell and by what that means I will find out later

Auctions are not only the best way to go and I don't regard my SS to be right for auctions PLUS the expense and their fees is what I don't need

Already have a good offer and any offers I get, I won't discard the price, that is my business

Good stuff mate, just don't want to see a repeat of the cheap blue hatch you sold last.

places like Lloyds offer a zero cost option to put the car to Auction.   You only pay if it sells and you can set your own reserve. if it is close to reserve, they will generally waive their fees if you agree to put it up on the market.

But take my advice with a grain of salt if you like.

;)

I have another classic car on the go and I don't want to lose it so going to auction may take too long

I went down for the Saturday cruise and enjoyed the route, I found Canberra an easy place to drive.

Didn't stay for Sunday, was hapy with what I saw and talking to people at the cruise.

Some pics,

Had a great time at the Torana Nationals. 6 days, 5 nights, covered 2600 klm's without any dramas. Also picked an award to boot. Drive them not hide them I say  B)
