All Holden red 6 water pumps (OEM and aftermarket) have that connection cast into the body.

Clay, all replacement pumps come with that connection blocked off. The installer has to drill it out if needed.

Could cut off the hose barb and file it down smooth. Don’t know if it would need bogging up to become invisible, though
If you’re painting it it wouldn’t matter, jb weld or something similar would work

Yes Dave I've done it a couple of times, just thinking that an undrilled original body might be hard to come by, if he wants it concourse. Replacement ones atmrent a problem. They used to sell them at the co-op @$6 a pop in 1990. Still cheap today, $25 last time I got one.

Hi Albert, I just cut the spigot off and smoothed it off on the LJ. I'm not sure if 'S Pack' (no offence Dave) is correct that all of the OE or replacements had the spigot??

No offence taken Marty.

That spigot was a feature of every red, blue & black 6 cyl OEM water pump that GMH fitted to a new 6cyl engine, whether the spigot was required or not.

Thanks Dave. I just thought I remembered seeing them without spigot. I trust your knowledge more than my memory.

I've never seen a Red, Blue Black Holden 6 water pump without that spigot.
