Would just like to mention to you all that I have posted the engines out of frustration at having engines sitting around that may mean something to someone.

If you like I can remove the posts so please let me know.

Will leave it at that for now and go back to giving them the s*+ts on the fastlane, but hopefully it’s got some of you thinking about the possibility of such an aid being made available to all.

Cheers and all the best

I reckon the better way to do it would be for people to post up the engine they are looking for but leave off the last digit or two. Then let people look at what they have in their sheds.

Example. I know 3071268xK102x is out there, I've seen it in the last 5-6 years on a pallet at Lloyds Auctions with a dodgy blue HK "GTS" as its original engine. It's the original out of my HK GTS.

If you did something like that it might work better.

327 Hi im not 100 p/c on what u are suggesting but leaving the last 2 digits is better than  no numbers put up at all,  There are many toranas out there less there engines, I myself have a few engines that have been under the bench for many many years, and have friends also with engines, How do we get the ball rolling again,  We could start it something like engines lost and found,  Eg im looking for my original engine for my car engine no HT7246XX  or 327246XXX  or something like hi i have an engine under my bench JP246XX etc etc      What do members think

That would be a lot better and keeps the actual number somewhat private. Just make sure if you are listing engines you have that you ask for proof it belongs with the inquirer’s car. Like photos of old rego papers, ID Cert out of the original books plus that the car actually exists (like photos of the chassis number and ID tags on the car). What you don’t want to be doing is selling a JP engine to someone that then goes and creates a car to go with it. Not as much of a problem with LH-LX or Holdens as the records for those are not public.
