Not too worried about these costs as it will hopefully be a max of three months before we work out what to do with at least one of the cars and if I decide to last in the new role long term.

So just park it on the street.

Wash and wax it every couple of weeks.

^ Agreed.

The idea of a car cover for a car that is outside and not being driven gives me the heebeegeebees. Unless you're in a dry environment.

There is a lot to be said for: white car, UV tinted glass and a dashmat. Don't park under trees. Put paint protection wax (Meguire's or Mothers) on the car.

Even if you park your car inside at night, if you work the car is out in the sun for the daylight peak hours anyway in most cases.

Went o/s for a year and left my car in an old stable in the north flinders ranges. Dirt floor, dry climate and out of the weather. Got any mates out back where you could leave it?

May have stumbled across a friend of a friend who mentinoned an old chook shed ... not sure if any chooks are still in it or not, but this could become an option.

Did you bother about putting a cover on it or just let it gather dust and give it a good clean when you came home?

No cover, but should have.
