Reading this through a Facebook link, the detail is pretty sketchy really, but they are saying it is an original car with CK 186 and GMH 4speed. I just thought they were all Opel. I know the GTR got the Australian box with 173 end of run. Probably just ignorance, theirs or mine. Please educate me.

Clay, the last run of XU1 post HQ release were Aussie boxes.

Yes. Those engines were built post HQ engine introduction hence why the prefix changed from 3100X to CK. Same as the 2250H and 2250L engines changing to CB and CC.

Looking at the pics it does not appear to be a 1971 CK XU1. It appears to be a 1970 3100x and Opel 4spd XU1 that has had a CK and Aussie 4 spd transplant.
