I need some grey Golfball for the seat inserts in the L34. I was given some NOS A9X material (on right below) but it is a different colour to my original LH 8VD69 19V inserts.  The roll on the left is aftermarket, but I am unsure of the supplier as it had been sitting in someone's cupboard for 20 years.

I will get your roll back to you Dave.

I supplied Cools with a piece of card spray painted with acrylic Covert. They colour matched it and dyed the golfball material to suit or something? As its a perfect match to what I supplied....??? That was 10 years ago though... Maybe worth asking Steve?

I didn't realise they did that sort of thing. I will give him a ring tomorrow.

Def worth the call. I can’t say exactly what they did but as I said the goofball that I have is an exact match to what I supplied. I also supplied them with extra carpet as well that I had supplied from Knox? to stitch into the bottoms of the door trims so that also matched the floor carpet.

As far as grey golfball goes, LH 8VD69 had either Dark Ash 250 (19V and 12V) or they had Dark Grey 271 (14V and 18V).  My seats are Dark Ash, so would that make the NOS roll in the photo above Dark Grey 271, or did the colour change again with the introduction of LX?

I'll check Laurie. I have the colour and trim albums covering late HJ, HX and early HZ which also cover Torana and Gemini. They have all this detail including trim samples.

I got a set of Cools Trim seat covers. They are closer, but still darker than the original. Even the black is "blacker".  I also went to a mates place to compare them with another Torana that had spent its entire life inside a shed and it was the same.
