I am looking for the one in the picture below that has the purple arrow.  I think this tab is the same as the one attached to the thermostat housing, which is the middle one in the bottom photo. Do the 6 cylinders have them as well?

That's a HX 4.2 Laurie. I can check the part numbers of them if you want.

The small one for the alternator wire that goes on the rocker cover is too short. You can't get a socket on the fastener head easily.

It works Brad, but they're not the same.

Laurie if you want me to send you the big clip shown, text me an address and I'll send it Thursday.

Thanks Howard, but I have already ordered the RPA ones and I think they look like a good replacement for the larger tabs.  I will have a crack at panel beating the smaller one back into shape today.

Got a pic of the two bolts holding the small water inlet housing on the manifold? Mine don't have the AJAX stamped in, although other 1/4 inch bolts on the car don't as well, but they have a small A instead.

Bit of trivia. I have never seen them on a red six but they look very similar to a tab attached to the lower clutch master to firewall bolt on EK, to retain wiring to dipper switch I think.

My EK is Hydramatic, but I do have a couple of boxes of early bits in the shed so I will have a scrounge in there.

That clip in the photo is an RPA one I have left over.

Here's two pics, top pic is my L34 followed by the L31, both have Ajax UNC on one of the bolts per pair.

OK. Perfect. So did mine, but I was assuming one of them was wrong.  The smaller one is a long version of the rocker cover bolts.
