Most commonly found on HQ, HJ, LJ, LH and early LX 202/3300 engines. They'll also pop up in other places like late HG with 202 and on low compression 173/2850 engines which are most often found in HQ and CF Bedford. Pretty common head.

2250 with a low comp head? How did they ever run?

They would have just kept chugging along.

Actually for their purpose & in their day they were fine. Remember these weren't for use in Australian capital cities as daily transport, they were built for places were Standard (<90 octane) petrol was all they had.
The vast majority of Lo-Comp type engines were used in remote communities or export markets like PNG & other Pacific Islands etc. where the old 'Super' grade petrol wasn't sold.
The 2250 LC engine still produced 90 bhp & 115 lbs/ft which was way better than most 4-cyl engines of the day.

Probably no worse than a low comp 149 or 161 in a Holden.
