Im back here for a visit because I dont know where else to ask, and this joint has always been the font of all knowledge for me in the past.
Is there a way to find the date of manufacture of a HQ (I think) ute chassis, dh675544s ?
Thanks

It is probably a late 71 or early 72 going by that number. My HQ is DHQ and is a 4/73
Hope this helps.

I haven't been recording numbers on the big Holdens but going by the ADRs...
AHQ should've ran from the introduction of the HQ model (builds starting around May 1971), until 31st December 1971
BHQ should've run from 1st January 1972 when ADRs 1, 9 (auto only), 11, 14, 22, 25 & 26 were introduced, until 31st December 1972
CHQ should've run from 1st January 1973 when ADRs 6, 10B, 12, 16, 18, 21 & 24 were introduced, until 31st December 1973
DHQ should've run from 1st January 1974 when ADRs 4A, 23, 27 & 28 were introduced, until the end of the model run.

I may be wrong but I believe there was also EHQ

Maybe I missed a mid-year ADR update in there somewhere?

Holden production didn't line up with those dates.
I've got:
AHQ from SOP
BHQ from Jan-72
CHQ from Feb-73
DHQ from Sep-73
EHQ from Apr-74

Oops...chassis number is BHQ75544S
Can't be BHQ75544S. AHQ finished around 13000S around the start of October 1971, BHQ finished around 25000S at the end of 1971. CHQ ended at the end of December 1972 around the 61500S region. DHQ is the only Pagewood chassis number with 75544 sequence, and DHQ75544S will be on a May 1973 complianced HQ.

Holden production didn't line up with those dates.
I've got:
AHQ from SOP - actually until the end of 9/71
BHQ from Jan-72 - actually from 10/71 to the end of 12/71
CHQ from Feb-73 - from 1/72.
DHQ from Sep-73 - from January 1973.
EHQ from Apr-74 - agree
Dr Terry
I corrected the above Terry, at least for Pagewood and Dandenong. Others should almost certainly be the same. I do have overlap cars recorded too like BHQ with 1/72 compliance but that will just be a function of the way the particular assembly plant did its tags I guess.
