Hi I was just wonding if you could put a complete uc dash into a LH/LX 4 door? If so how much work is involved or is it just a straight swap?

Thanks for the help

It's a pretty big job. You need to grind off all the welds that hold the inner dash (metal) to the rest of the shell and do the same with the donor car. After which you re-weld the new inner dash in the correct position, not impossible but it'll take awhile.

Thanks for the help.

Yes - unless you can get the inner dash from the wreckers... :)

Definately not a hard thing to find and I can't imagine they'll charge you too much considering you just said you were gonna buy a whole car for the dash :P

Just gotta make sure you don't set fire to the carpet when you're grinding out the metal :)

I can help out with the complete dash. Where are you located, 77SLR? Possibly the matalwork as well, depending on how much work is involved. I have a 100 MM and a 230 MM grinder sitting in the garage. PM me if you're interested, as I don't normally check this section of the forums.
