or you can recess the firewall to get them in.Yep few mates have done it over here... chop radiator support panel out and they fit straight in... All the normal things like engine/gearbox mounts will need to be changed... if you a run a trimatic a standard gemini auto tailshaft will bolt up...
Hope this helps

I reckon a commo V6 would be the go, with a S/C of course! what a sleeper that would make!

EDIT: you still need engineers cert
A V8 is also possible but chassis mods will need to be made!

Here is a Link of Information from Regency Park of what you are allowed to do and not allowed to do with your Vehicles in South Australia problem is that i dont know if this is updated as it says published in 2003im in adeliade dont know what the laws are. the last time i rang those people they wouldnt tell me anything so im not telling them my idea. if a v6 is legal i cant see why a 186 wouldnt be. i was plaining on just driving it if i was to do it.

Or Have a Look here for all the Publications from Transport SA about Road Rules and other
Link
i found out that no seatbelts in back is legal for me.....my exhaust must be lower than 96dB instead of todays cars as 90dBs....
