If you have the same plastic one you can eaisly slip it around the steering colum and clip it back together.
If you have like has been mentioned, I believe that you would have to remove the steering colum to fit this type of shroud.
P.S. I have a plastic one in good condition for sale if you need one. Iam in Darwin

Slip it around? Only on LC & LJ i think?Mate what a bummer.

LH/LX is one piece and solid, you have to remove the top bearing.
Can't come up from the bottom, mounting plates in the way
Not what you wanted to hear, but thats what i just did.
Loosen the the mounting bolts, wheel off, indicator unplug and out, top bearing off, drop the column, disconnect ignition switch & rod, replace cover and then reverse for the refit.
Shit of a job.
Mine wasn't broken, only missing a couple of locating pins and was always sitting open on one side, araldite and bamboo scewers used to fix and several hours for the glue to set.
Worked a treat.
Took forever.

How did you remove the metal casing that holds the key barrel? I've fiddled with it for ages but I can't remove the damn thing! Everything has been removed: steering wheel, blinker switch, all screws and somehow it's still hanging in there. Do I have to remove the key barrel as well?
I'm almost thinking of taking the column out and going around the other way. Is that possible? The mounting plates detach I think. If so, where's the best place to detach the entire column?
This may just possibly be the longest reply time ever?

i did this the other day. Did you remove the circlip on the shaft where the spring is. It should slide off then, you won't have to remove the whole column.
