Did a9x's have plastic or fibreglass flares.. I know they had plastic front spoilers but was the rest of the kit plastic or glass? I have been told on ebay that even the bonnet scoops are plastic..

I know REDA9X would know this so can you let me know please mate..

Thanks
John

To the best of my knowledge, all flares fitted to new cars were fibreglass - L34, A9X hatch and sedan.

Generally, the only plastic parts on the A9X body kits were the front spoiler, and the sedan bobtail - and the brake ducts, if you want to include them.

Having said that however, I believe HG350 has some oem plastic flares - it wouldn't surprise me if one of the suppliers of the flare kits to Holden experimented with plastic as well as fibreglass.

Ok cool mate thanks for that, its exact what i thought too..

Its just a good mate is trying to sell a bonnet of a L32 SS hatch with what he beleives is a dealer fitted bonnet scoop, also has the whole cut exactly the same way as an A9X. The car came with rear spoiler too witch looks to be dealer fitted. He put the bonnet and scoop on ebay and was told it wasnt a genuine scoop as they were all plastic, he was also told by another ebayer who apperantly owns an A9X witch has all plastic body kit.

I brought a rear spoiler and flare kit of HG350 a long time ago witch was ment to be genuine and it was all fibreglass thats why i was confused with what my mate was told.

i had a plastic flare kit that came new with my SLR, i can recomend that you should forget about them even if you are going for any orinality because they are so fragile, eventually (after about 4 years) the bolts seem to pull through the holes, ive since put fibre glass ones on there and they even look better. just my opinion though

Fibreglass scoop and flares, plastic front & rear spoliers and brake ducts.

Cheers

My bonnet scoop is metal, though I cannot vouch for it being original A9X or not.
