Wondering what the widest tyres are that will fit in 15 by 10 hotwires.
Has anyone put on 345/35/15's on, or would you need a 12 inch wide wheel to accommodate this tyre choice
Cheers
Timbo.

you could put it on a 10 but the sidewall may pop off the bead if cornering hard, a 12 would be better!

I think that even 11 inch would do however to fit 345s on a torrie you would have to modify the inner guard.

I think a 345 would be really stressing it on a 10", an 11" would be fine, and a 12" is optimum. I'm not into the idea of putting wide tyres on small wheels at all (I'm running 225s on 8s for example), but I don't have much experience as far as tyres are concerned...

What will the wheel/tyre combo be used for? If you want a bit more grip off the line and generally you'd just be cruising around I guess it wouldn't pose much threat, but if it will be 'exercised' on circuits or just crazy driving, I wouldn't be recommending it.

this is a 10 inch wide wheel with a 295 on it on my car and a 12 inch wide slick next to it, the slick would be around the equivalent of a 325 or roundabouts, it squeezes in just, but then again, a friend has 15x14s with 345/35s on his four door, but the inner guard has been massaged a little and is running coil overs

Thanks for the replies guys.
I wouldn't be using it on a circuit at all, just street and strip.
Are there any other 15 inch tyres around the 325 or 305 mark that
are of a low enough profile?
Cheers. Tim

I have already replied to your PM, but for the sakes of others, the narrowest rim a 345 can LEGALLY be fitted to is an 11" wide rim. BFG make ( or made, I have seen them ) a 305/50R15. They will be fine on 10" wide rims.
