Actually, Phil is runnning the CP5200 but they are the same mount as the CP5570.

I have adapter mounts for the calipers that will suit Commodore mounting (hence the reason I had the drop spindles drilled to suit Commodore calipers) so it should bolt up OK. I might have clearance issues with the control arms however. I'll have to bolt it up when I get a chance and see.

5570 is the 6 pot
Much bigger unit
I'd say clearance might be an issue ..... you won't know till you bolt them on.

Yes i think the 6 spots would be a problem. you may have to move the caliper further around than I had to. tie rod ends without the grease nopple would help too.

Hey Phil,

If you get a chance I'd still like to get a set of the brackets that you had made up for your calipers. :spoton: At least it will give me a good starting point.

I'm not sure but do you think A9X steerings arms would help with clearance issues?

Cheers.

Its all about the retro look or the drag look, if you want the drag look you go 15" but if you want the retro look you at least have togo 18" minimum. Its up to the persons taste. I have seen an lj going around with r8s and it looks tough.

Retro = retrospective = old ....... that means no big open spoke wheels
Modern look would be big wheels but retro would be some nice wide 15's

I'm not a big fan of the modern look
But I will be going to 17's on my car but in a retro design........... like GTS wheels

Hahaha...... you guys crack me up
Like I have the money to buy them

When the car is finally nearly ready ...... or started
Then I will buy me some

Prices though........ well they go something like this

All wheels are custom built to what you need in the way of offsets bolt patterns and centre bore, constructed with forged alloy outer rim with T6 alloy centres. Prices start at $450 per wheel for a 15 x 6 up to $650 per wheel for a 18x9.5 Note OLDSKOOL MUSCLE is only avail in 17 and 18, priced at $525 for a 17 x 7 and 17 x 8 , $565 for a 17 x 9.5, $595 for a 18 x 8 and $650 for a 18 x 9.5. We can section our outer rims to achieve custom widths at an extra cost. Note .due to copy right we do not supply the holden sticker for the OLDSKOOL MUSCLE wheel, however it is available from Rare Spares. We are Melbourne based and we distribute Australia wide.

a guy here on the coast has these on a LJ and i must say, doesnt tickle my fancy all that much, just looked weird, i cant describe why but i think its the large chrome outer edge. again though each to their own. i think id rather a nice set of billet wheels in a nice old school yank style.

That pic is of 330mm discs with AP 4 pot calipers fitted on a Torana
To stock Torana spindles too

Car is owned by a forum member here

Stops good too

So still no spare time to play with these brackets?

Times not really the thing atm
The parts are
I have moved around abit in the industry and don't have access to any CP5200's to play with

Last time I spoke to Howard at Race Brakes in Melbourne he said he had just finished a 330mm kit for a Torana ... so he might have the plans to do them off the shelf
Not sure what stubs was used though

The brackets I made to mount my Brembo's is a pretty simple setup at least...

I still have the urge to get some of the 8 piston AMG Brembo calipers that originally would have been used with my rotors...one of these days maybe when I have nothing else to do.

The 18 x 10 out back is 18ish pounds, can't recall off hand what the 18 x 8 up front was though...

Is 18 pounds "good" or "bad" would you say ?

Depends on what you want to compare them with. Enkei make some quite light weight and fairly strong rims in 18+".

These are pretty strong..they are a forged center and were originally designed for Porsche Cup cars...

I stumbled across a few centers the company had left from the one run of them they had made, and had the wheels built up. They use a unique outer too with a narrow drop center to them, to give more caliper clearance.

I have seen some other cool looking wheels I liked from time to time (alot more pricey though), but these are unique so will run them for a while (and do like them in the first place of course)

No 18 is fine, i've liked the look of them since you first posted.

I thought they were one piece, which would have had me more excited, but just for my orange hatch.

i have lightweight 3 piece already.

After having a look, it appears that Jeffs rims are lighter than the Enkeis I like. Not much though.

Are the Enkei's one piece?

Most of them are. Personally I like the RP03 and the RPO5. They are available in different diameters, widths, stud patterns and offsets. Most have a centre bore of 75mm, so hub locating rings would be handy.
