Wow I'd not checked in here for a bit by geeze it's looking good

The interior changes look tops... I'd of thought nah stick with the black if I'd of read the plan for tan carpet (thinking all practical for not showing marks) but that has made such a difference so much more showy now

Yeah hopefully I can hit him up for some hey!

as for the shoes.... nope! lol. My thongs were cracking my heels open from wearing them too much, so barefoot was easier. lol.

I had thongs on when he did the portrait shots though! lol

Well, still waiting on extreme holdens to print the feature, but as some might have seen, I managed to get my ugly ol face into street machine for young guns.

Im pulling this thing apart again though for.the.following-

New solid cam
Bigger head (more comp too :) )
Custom extractors
New warneford ling runner manifolds
New clutch and pressure plate
Machine the flywheel
Reco gearbox and mybe new shifter
Check out front end bushes
Strip and smooth/repaint front end

I need to decide on black or orange for the crossmember now, what do we all think?

Shooting for 200-250rwhp from it this time round

Well plans have changed for.the minute.

Two bits of good news.....

I got a new job last week working for a dealership in artarmon :) great pay, so will finally have the extra money to do everything to the house and cars, including a full rebuild on karlies ute.

Other bit of good news is a full feature on the lj in the latest extreme holdens.

Overjoyed about that one, power figure in the article is a bit off though, and was from the last engine.

Bad news...
New job means I dont get home until late and leave early in the morn to commute. So no time weekdays to do any work.

Other bad news is that I only have two free weekends between now and toranafest! :o

So not.pulling this off the road until after tfest.

But that ensures it will be done properly and not rushes, and I will have extra cash to buy the best bits.

Ill throw some new pics up soon!

Well, changed plans again, engine box and front crossmember are out, suspension bits getting blasted this week, new cam ready to go in :) big.solid, have the.specs floating around somewhere, 11:1 compression with the new head, new clutch, lifters on the way, etc.

Im a bit unsure on clutch, thibk I might upgrade to a larger blue motor one, but need a part number for something decent pressure,

Pics tomorrow hopefully

Well gone a wee.bit overboard again, front end has been.blasted (thanks to grahame from extreme blasting lx5008)

hi-filling.it all tomorrow, all new nolathane bushes, drilling xu1 style lower holes for.the top arms.

Bought a head stud kit, manifold studs and 12 point nuts, new set of adjustable cam gears, cam is dialled in and slid into the block.

Looks like compression is going to.be pretty high, 11.5+.

I reckon I.can get 220hp easy, 250might.be a bit ambitious on the bottom end.

No toranafest this year, instead it will be in the.paint shop after some damage.was done in the.shed

Got heaps to do, hi-filling the front end tomorrow if the weather holds off, engine is now assembled, head torqued down, oil pump refitted, all the holes covered up ready to clean and paint black tomorrow.

I need to decide what colour to paint my calipers now, not sure if I should paint em orange 2pack or black again or silver or what. Will have a nice big vented, slotted rotor behind them too!

Going to strip, acid balth and kit the calipers, new decent pads etc etc.

Cant wait to drive this thing, going to be freaking awesome.

Wont run at the track for a while craig, its hard to explain, but I owe my folks some cash, interest free loan that they dont mind me having for as long as I want, the.lj is collateral and until I pay the money owing, no racing in it (mums rules) its fine by me though, thats.why we built the racecar!

Its funny though, with the $$ ive spent on it.over the years I could have been debt free, but its worked out pretty good.

only need to run the cam in, rest of the motor is untouched this time.round (only has 5-6000 kms on it)

Going to do.some.hifilling and port match my new long runner warneford manifolds tomorrow. Extractors have been started too, so its all go go go. The rotor and caliper combo will look awesome.behind my 5 spoke design wheels, should fill it.out nicely too!

Very impressive Chris, what make simmons are those wheels exactly? your car is neat, straight and exactly what a 4 door ought to be. And the new motor sounds like a bit of fun, even if it isn't an 8 :P
Just one more question, what calipers are they? volvo 4 pots or something else?

They arent even simmons wheels! lol, ROH venturos that I bought off John (tuffgong)

16x7.5s rear, 16x6.5 fronts

I'll tell you all about the calipers and conversion when Ive got it all finished :)
