Hiya. Being the owner of a butchered torana I thought it would be fun to start a thread on any other weird toranas out there.

I've found a few, so feel free to add any pics you have of crazy toranas.

Let's start with some I think are from Jakarta.

Posted Image

I'm sure Heath will like the retarded "my tires are 16 sizes too skinny" look this thing has going on : )

I'm really intrigued by this thing. It's cool yet ugly at the same time. It looks very torana, but the rear is different, obviously it's a 2 door sedan, the rear wheel arches are different and even the sills and bottoms of the doors are different.

Posted Image

Posted Image

It has a torana dash, but the heater is different.

Posted Image

I think everyone has seen these 2 door sedan camaro looking ones, but they deserve a place in here.

Posted Image

I like the camaro style hide away headlights.

Here's another one with the camaro front end treatment.

Posted Image

I have a thing for 2 door sedans.

I've seen this on the forum somewhere. I assume it's a vauxhall frankenstein? I don't know, but I really like it.

Posted Image

If/when I can find a decent priced LH/LX sedan I'm going to build one of these!

Posted Image

Now it's time for some plain old uglyness!!!!

I've never seen a torana with bogged in flares that looked any good, and this is no exception. No offense to the owner, I just don't like it. Does anyone have any pics of moulded flares that look any good? There's a burgundy hatch up here with moulded flares. They're done really well but to me still look terrible.

Posted Image

Well that's a start. Please post any unusual torana pics you have in here, but make sure they're unusual, not just a stocko with sigma hubcaps!!!

I tried to find pics of a green LJ 2 door with GTS wheels that's been converted into a hatch back. Awesome idea! But I couldn't find any pics online. There's also a cool little yellow HB torana with an LC front and V8. I saw it in street machine, but only one pic, and I couldn't find that online either.

So there you go. Bring on the good the bad and the ugly : )

Dirtbag, do you mean the green LC ( I think it was anyway) that's been made into a hatch back? It's been to Toranafest. I've got some pics of it somewhere I'll try and find this arvo if no-one else beats me to it.

The yellow one with the HB frontend is on here somewhere too, I might have saved that pic as well, again if no-one else posts it first.

Also, there used to be a white LH/LX with the flares glassed? to the body around the Charlestown/Gateshead area that I used to see now and then when I worked over there. It didn't look too bad. I don't have any pics of it, but someone on here might know it.

Wow! That ute is REALLY ugly! Nice work adding it in here wot : )

I like that red/orange hatch, apart from the weird bonnet scoop and over riders. Nothing looks good with over riders!

I don't actually think those flares are moulded in are they? I think they just fit really well and bolt from the inside. I've seen a yellow hatch with the same flares, from NZ I think?

slr_v8 yes the green LC/LJ with the hatch back conversion. I love the idea of it. I've never seen it in the flesh but it looks like it's done well from the couple of pics I've seen of it in magazines.

Keep em coming : )

Here's that yellow one you mentioned, I didn't post it up before cos I didn't think it was that odd!

P.S. if you want a set of these smooth flares for one of your projects let me know as I've got a set here but I'm not gonna use them now...

and yes, those front wheels/tyre on that first pic look terrible, though i do like the 2 door sedan idea. I like that lj ute, but i dont like how it still has the lower rear quarters.
and Torailer rocks!

Sorry Dirtbag, I can't find any pics of the LC hatchback or the HB front end. Dunno what I've done with them. Someone should have pics of them though.

I found this on my comp while looking. I'd own it.
