Hmm..okay.

So I'll have to ask the dumb question here. Is there a difference between sedan and hatch bonnets? I thought the LH and LX bonnets looked the same but I must be wrong on that one. I'll check my parts manual when I get home for that one.

Thanks for the heads-up Aaron, really appreciate it :)

Cheers,

Liz :)

I believe the early LH bonnets had a double skin on the bottom side. They all fit but the early ones are a bit heavier.

Other way around, early were single skin, late were double and heavier. A9X went back to the early to shave a few kilo's.

Well there you go, I have never heard of that. Now I know what the two types are.

Thank you both for the info, very much appreciated. I'm glad I asked my dumb question ;)

I will let the resto guy know (assuming that he doesn't already) and get the correct one.

Cheers,

Liz :)

Just to clarify, all LH and early LX (pre 6/76) had the twin skin bonnets. From 6/76 onwards they were all single skin.

That surprises me that you weren't all over that ! I'm not being a smart @rse, usually you're all over anything lh/lx related, just goes to show how much we all learn ☺

Dad's car had a tow bar on it and while I put all of his other little personal touches back on the tow bar was the one thing I couldn't bring myself to do.

Tow bars are for pickup trucks!

Hey Liz, nice project you have going there. I wish I had that many before shots of my torana! Hope it turns out exactly as you dream it to.

Correct

Nope that's not correct, it must have been later 1976 as I've got a 7/76 bonnet that's double skin, still got the ADR27A sticker on it

Hi Brett,

I'm interested in the ADR sticker that is still on your bonnet. Whereabouts is it located and any chance of a photo?

Cheers,

Liz :)

Hey Mark,

Yeah, got stacks of photos. It's funny though, my first car was a nice little LJ 2 door S but I've only got one damn photo of it...

Cheers,

Liz :)

No problems , I'll take one when I get home. I have 2 actually. My original 308 one which is double skin and I also have a later single skin one with a 202 sticker on it

6-7 Month 76 is about the mark for the changeover of the twin bonnet skins. Same as the rear beaver change on the LH and LX's and black to colour engine bays on LX's. Trust me on this one!
