My build would have been on ebay two years ago if it wasn't for the help and knowledge on here. And other forums have much less manners - in the digital world, this is a very relaxed corner of the internerd. Looking back on some of my dumb-arse questions over the years, I am surprised no one jumped on me, but that simply hasn't happened.
Great place. :-)

As I am what my dad calls a “Pup” all I have ever found here is help, like minded friends and a bit of humour.
To have a site where “Old Blokes” are prepared to share a passion for cars with “Pups” is unique.
It’s a shame other sites on the net aren’t as cross generational. Just my 2 cents worth.

We all need to pass the baton down the line or it will become lost forever in the sands of time.

^^ agree,when it's gone it's gone.
A little bit of a rant but draw the parallel?
Got roped into..more like put me me hand up and got involved in hooking up some short circuit wires on an under warranty "rally car".
That was all good because it was a bit different, only problem being that head honcho ,or so called, was always on the phone to the boss and others and whatever, and the other fella was ok , but head honch was in control and we were doing our best working in a shed with generator power.
Time comes to strip a few bits to manualise a transfer case on a pajero, other fella and myself were quite happy to chuck around a few ideas no matter how stupid and come up with something that works.
Not so head honcho,he could not give a frok and he "knew best".
Time comes for modifications....head honch pulls this thing apart and ends up somehow having a detent ball fall into the transfer case,,not a problem despite other fella and myself working out how the brackets should be welded together and we had already had some of them fabricated to trim up and fit.
But...how do we get that ball bearing out of the transfer case that has thick oil in it....easy..."flush" the thing with a bit a of petrol so that we can sift around and find it.
That worked really well, head honch pulls the bung and this weak mix of fuel and gear oil spills out on the floor, head honch is onto it and quickly scoops it up and gets it out of the way for health and safety reasons by sweeping it out onto the wet ground (drizzly day) and it is all good, mop up the rest with some rags and chuck them out there as well.
No one took any notice but after a bit of a spell to let the fumes dissipate we thought..all good.
Yep..all good says head honch..."go for it"...the first arc of the mig ignited a rag head honch forgot to pick up off the floor but he was onto it...faaaaark,some quick thinking from head honch kicks the small lit rag out of the shed...right into the area where he had cleaned up the other spill which now had a bit of time to spread over the water on the ground...which just so happened to be right under where the back up vehicle was parked...that's how things turn to shit

The Forum is a Mix of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly lol
But a wealth of information can be learnt here, and that is a good thing and some laughs as well.

It ain't perfect but it ain't a bad thing. You do have to get on here a bit and build/maintain a connection with a portion of the group to get the most out of it, that's for sure.

Heathy baby, it's because of members like yourself that i enjoy this site so much.
Watching your skills develop over time & your confidence grow, the caliber of your projects & the results you are achieving now makes an old tradesman happy. Now paint the front!
It's the same with members projects. It's cool to see them develop over time & finally wearing rego plates. Even better to see them close up at events like Tfest!
The site is still the same as it always has been. Helpful, informative & encouraging.
Some ppl just need to realise that this isn't FB. It's a community!
