the only reason why i have gone the hj front is because i have all the gaurds bonnet and scuttle panels to suit if i went hq style id have to get new all of the above which i cant really afford to go doing

and besides theres heaps of the hq fronts around and never a hj one

agrreed with rim on the tub job as it is a monaro so i am not going to molester it up now plus ive got a mini tubbed lj coupe for that :P

progress so far the bonnet is now on and ive striped down the headlight surround and grille etc and getting the body ready for it to be worked on soon

He's good, he's driving trains and he's caught a bit of the Japanese disease haha. Still working on the old Holdens but he has a lot of projects. Got a few R31s, one with an RB25DET, got a VT SS which is a bit warm, and he's putting together a hot Holden six for his aqua LJ coupe.

Would have looked great done up as a HX LE again but with modern wheels and seats.

p.s. also for those who dont know the reason why ive gone the hj-hz style front end is because i want the car to be different ive seen quiet a few hq coupes around bendigo / melbourne and its getting rare these days for a hj to pull up especailly with those boots

Even more to the point, how many genuine HJ LS coupes do you see? HX LE coupes were/are common compared to those!

If your coupe was a LE, it's a bit harder to put the hq front on. Where the bonnet meets the cowl vent , the Hj bonnet is wider there and you would have to cut that section out. The hq bonnet is thinner so you fill out to the wider bonnet when you fit the Hj/ hz front
