It will fit but the only difference I found when I put an lj crossmember in my lc is that there isn't a bracket for the brake line block like there is on an lc crossmember.

If it has HK brakes on it, generally you need 14" rims to clear. Mind you, I have seen an HG with 13" rims on it.

he may have been refering to the 350 bathurst monaro brakes which i believe were the same as bathurst xu1's, bigger rotor which require spacers in the caliper to fit ,if this is correct 13inch wheels would fit, correct me if im wrong cause im no brake expert this is just what i have heard.

I know a while back there was someone on ebay selling some caliper's and they said they were HK ones for a LJXU1
I think from memory it was forum member Torana 05 from Milton Performance

V8 HK calipers need the LJ XU-1 disc, as there is 3 MM thickness difference between 6 and V8 HK calipers, as well as around 3MM difference between XU-1 and stock LJ discs.

Check hoppers stoppers website-they've got a whole spiel on old holden brakes and updates - i think std hk was .5 inch ,and the thick ones were .625 inch; something like that anyway.

Just went out to the car (HG Wagon) and it doesn't have the spacers. I believe that the bigger discs went only on certain cars. So do not think that this is fully correct. Besides mine will soo have bigger brakes on it anyway. :D

Cheers

HK V8 & all HG discs are around 3 MM thicker than other HK & HT discs.
LJ XU-1 discs are around 3 MM thicker than stock LJ discs.

I 've seen these spacers advertised on E bay, some one was making them to update the 6 cyl calipers to V8 with thicker rotors.
I think they were 10 mm.

HK/T/G and LC/LJ 6 cylinder all share the same calipers
The only difference is the 3mm spacer that was used on XU1 and later H series
The discs are a thicker unit on vehicles fitted with the spacers

Torana ran a 256mm disc regardless of the factory spec (re spacers)
H series ran a 270mm disc
The only thing that changed was the addition of spacers and thicker discs.

Most 13" won't clear the H series brakes
