Really is a lovely repair, and progress is progress, even if things are going slowly. Your son is a very lucky boy! :)

Looking good daz. Time flys by when you look back at the dates when work first started.

Haven't been out in my shed for about 2months and have lost the passion atm to get out there and do more.

hey hatchman yeah time flys its been 2 and a half years since i got it home and your right its hard to get your ass in gear sometimes and do the work also im limited in space with 4 cars in the shed SO A BIG THANK YOU TO SOSS
for letting me store one at his place for a while

also looking at some of these beautiful hatches on here gives me more motivation so i just have to keep going as i wanna drive it as much as my son so now i am going mental on it STAY TUNED!!!!!

ps try and motivate yourself on yours!!!!!

some more progress stripped LH guard to bare metal absolute awesome guard no rust or dents just have to etch,prime and paint now im doing the RH guard here is some more pics!!!

Nice work so far. All good things take time. If it looks half as good as your other cars then it will be a ripper. Take time, measure twice cut once and you don't have to back and fix up the shortcuts when they fail.

the bolts used to fit the guards to the inner guards are different from in each model. lh lx and uc

i never knew that im a novice when it comes to LH_LX how are they different are they bigger different thread?????

well more progress stripped RH guard to bare metal one small dent but no rust also picked up my GTS wheels and HQ stub axles disc's and callipers next i will strip the bonnet to bare metal and finnish stripping of the plennum chamber

The LH guard bolt has a larger washer.

If you can get a couple of original LH & LX cars side by side you will see.

It's just that I know you are fastidious.

well guys finaly more progress the ss is now rust free yeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaar!!! had all the rust around the hatch and front windscreen cut and plated!!! new drivers side floor pan!!! the arial hole in the roof welded!!! and left hand hand lower quarter panel done!!! all i have to do now is clean up all the welds then get it ready for paint enjoy the pics!!!

cheers gong yeah paul is a good lad m8!!! and you will be pumping the cars out when your lads are older!!! here is some more pics i finaly got hold of some golf ball material thats been sitting since the early 80,s the seats are being done now and will be finished next week!!!
