heard about it on the radio this morning but seeing the footage on TV tonite was terrible. It sounds like about 1000 people turned out to see the street racing on Princess Hwy in Noble Park, near the 24 hour maccas. When the police arrive to try and take control, those spectating proceeded to trash a blockbuster video store nearby.
Anybody else see or hear about this?

yet another thing the government started by taking cars off of people
to me its like walking into your house and just taking absoulutely everything our furniture .... even ya children!
however this shouldnt result in an innocent bystanders store being trashed
its a big thankyou (or was it a f#$%you???) to all the people out there who own rice burners as for them they have ruined the p plate setup for everyone even last year i lost count of howmany skyllines went around the main streets of bendigo doing spinners well so called spinners (hell even a bright blue torana was involved in this!!!

the thing is that they dont have a powerfull car to go out to heathcoate or calder but powerfull enough to just start to spin the rear wheels in the wet to try and impress for there mates
well to them i say you aint seen nothing until your in the dry and the car steps out sideways
hopefully these peanut brained ricers stick to there craponese think your going fast but really quite slow cars and never find the satisfaction of driving a v8 as it would give v8s the bad name!!!!!!

So this despicable behaviour in Noble Park was a protest against the confiscation law.........was that in the media beat up, or did I miss that......or is that you strange logic/justification for condoning all of the action that took place except for the video store?yet another thing the government started by taking cars off of people
Interesting quotes from the media Tinkers; dont know what we are meant to make of babies in prams being there? Crying babies incited the rage..hoons cant afford babysitters?

The thing that gets me is that because of the actions of these people, those of us that drive modified cars and do the RIGHT thing are also targetted...just because we drive "hoon" cars... and WE pay for it.....
not good.... :(
Well said..

DA, it would seem that a lot of people do not comprehend the the danger of a situation like this, and are at times irresponsible enough to bring their kids along because they think it's a priority.
(Keep in mind this event is held at like 2am; so not many babysitters would be availible. But it's not like those people have to be there, fark I hate some bogans!)
I will never understand how those people not being allowed to do illegal driving activities in a busy, dangerous area with an irresponsible (there's proof now anyway!!!) crowd, resulted in an innocent store owner getting his shop absolutely destroyed.
I cannot express how much I detest these people. If you wanna have a riot, do it for the Nazis or something else that doesn't have a reputation that good people like the gmh-torana.com crowd are trying to uphold.

how much does it cost at WSID on street meets? $40 to race? thats a lot if you did it more than once a month. which obviously is the case. people want to do it every day. sure there would be no shortahe of spectators.

There are cheaper, environmentally friendly, lower risk and higher physical activity pastimes that all our hoons could be involved in to occupy their spare time, governments needs to tackle the problem of changing this culture, not have the general public subsidise and feed more hoon activity. We dont need to encourage drag racing as a sport, all it will do is get more people involved who modify cars and they will feel the need to practice/use(in practice for their next drag meet) the potential of their car in suburban streets to show off how powerful they are, just more hoons that would pass by my place on the way to work and think it doesnt affect anyone to give the tyres a bit of a spin for a few seconds, they have the taste for it and want to get a fix as often as possible. Being legally able to drag a road reg car has its problems to me..............where do people practice and setup their cars b4 they go to the drags?

Its a bit of a difficult situation to have to resolve, the truth is the majority of car enthusiests like most of us on here do the right thing and abide by the laws. The select few dickheads out there go out and act like animals on the road, kill themselves and other innocent people. These are the people that the police want to target, but in this world of politcal correctness things have to be done in certain ways and guidelines have to be followed.
I have to admit that any traffic cop i have ever dealt with has been friendly, easy to talk to and very understanding. that is probably because i show them the respect that they deserve and dont act like a smart arse to them.
Anyway i dont in anyway ever want to be invovled in something like what happened at Noble Park, this is why i only go on car cruises with clubs that i respect and know that everyone of their members do the right thing and inturn respect there fellow members and me.
to the people who have said this is the governments fault... do a little bit of research before you jump to conclusions....
