i am trying to do the same with mine. i never want to see rust in the bits i repair again whilst its still in my possession!!Nah I just got a wire brush drill bit and went spastic and took all the dirt off them. Then I painted all over it with that Wattle Kill Rust. It's gonna get some underbody tar put on it too..

It's reasonably good.. I wire brushed all of the surface rust off and it doesn't look to bad.. There are a few holes but nothing serious.. I am going to try to mig it all up. Might even cut out some strips and weld new bits in. Will see how game I get later this week lol..
The rust shown in the pics is the only rust, the rest is perfect..
I also removed the gas tank today. It's still 3/4 full of gas so we are gonna try to connect it up to the forklift lol.
Cheers

Rings
Bearings
Cam - Not sure which one yet. Anyone have any suggestions?
Street Terra roller rockers
Wouldn't mind some straight cut timing gears or gilmer drive
Extractors
Probably no head work as they flow good now. Might get them shaved a bit. Should take them into work and do it..
It will all come down to how much $$$ I have when it's time to do the engine..

Well after pulling the rear windscreen out I found a bit of rust. It was to be expected however.. Heres a few million pics of me welding up all the holes. I found it easiest to hold the mig on an angle like the first pics is showing. That way you can just keep building up on the previous weld..

This is all the holes welded up.

All ground down and coated iwht rust converter

This is the rust that was in the front windscreen. Only a touch of surface rust, no holes

Ground it over with a wire brush and a bit of rust converter and she was like new
