also is there a way to tell if my car had the slr5000 down the side, my understading is that the lx slr5000s did but only front and rear spoiler (hope no flares as i have spent countless hrs welding in the holes drilled from prev fittet flares)
is this stencil as good as they get ?

Weird, L looks like it's hanging a little low. Clive at C&G Signs here in Canberra has the correct stencils, or try Rare's, they also have em.

Your car will have the SL/R 5000 down the sides and on the rear spoiler. No flares just front and rear spoilers. Being Mandarin it would look just like my cars or LX5008's car. There are several pictures on our club website. Get the Rare Spares paint outs. The are the best I have seen..

not sure where to find your pics but tehy would be a great help to me tho, nother quick question is the bumpers i notice some a crome and some are colour coded on the slr5000s would mine be ment to be crome? and bumper bar over riders on all the slrs ?

Stencils down the sides and across the spoiler, use the rare Spares ones. Like the LX (TOP) in this pic
The seats you pictured on ebay are for LH, not LX. You need these, only with herringbone inserts(seargents stripes)
I'm not 100% sure of the cut off date for black engine bays, but I know only the very early LX had black engine bays. Surely if you sand it back you would see some colour there. Casino blue is the same blue one of the guys on the site painted his GPACK stripes. If you paint the engine bay black it's tuxedo Black (now midnight black) in semi gloss. Look at the passenger side tag and see if you can see colour or black on it.

Red I think you'll find his trim is 18V not 18X so will be the same as what you have pictured, grey golf ball not sargents stripes.

Was the black used in LH engine bay mat black or silk black?
